Distribution Center in Taunton, MA:

  • Working Hours: M-F ; 11 am - 8:30 pm
  • Location: 630 John Hancock Rd, Taunton, MA 02780
  • Pay - $16.82/hr

 

Our talented warehouse team members are known for their high standards of productivity, attention to detail, and valuable team partnerships to achieve the best results. To achieve this, we are searching for somone to fill the role of Receiving Clerk.  

 

 

 

 

      

receiving clerk maintains Gordon Food Service (GFS) warehouse receiving schedule for dry, frozen or perishable products.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Experience: No previous experience required.

 

Essential Functions (Duties):

 

  • Enters various other data and records truck performance.
  • Completes housekeeping activities on a daily basis.
  • Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Determines the condition of GFS product to salvage product as appropriate.
  • Utilize RF handhelds for proper identification of product
  • Identify product and verify proper driver credit coding on product returns.
  • Processes all return trailer products by close of day.
  • Performs inventory adjustments as they occur. 

 

Essential Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Must submit to and pass a RIAH drug screen.
  • Required mobility, bending and lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
  • ​Work in temperature controlled environment.​

  • Ability to multi-task, establishing appropriate priorities.
  • Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.

 

Problem Solving:

  • Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.

 

Equipment/Computer Skills:

  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, email and internet software applications. Knowledge of 10 key/data entry skills.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and walk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be mobile.
  • The employee must occasionally bend and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Hours 11 am  - 7pm
